EVE Online - Autopilot Can Be Useful (Under the Right Conditions)

I AFK fly from Vittenyn to Ambeke, via Uedama, using autopilot. Every few days I use Self-Destruct to return to my home base in Vittenyn to check on research jobs. To get back to the FOB, I use autopilot. It's common in Rookie Chat to be told to never fly using Autopilot, or you'll get killed.
